I study Permian and Triassic plants from the Transantarctic Mountains. My dissertation uses both anatomically and morphologically preserved fossil plants to investigate plant paleophysiology using known form/function relationships. The plants studied in this research grew in high paleolatitude environments with no modern analogue. The goal of this research is to advance our understanding of how plants respond to changing climates over deep time, and how these plants were able to survive in unique environments.
