Biodiversity Modeling Policy

From Dr. Jorge SoberĂ³n:

I am interested in the "governance" of biodiversity more than just by researching the topic.  For years I have been personnally involved in policy making for the government of Mexico, a bit marginally for the three NAFTA countries, attending meetings of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) and at a multilateral level, serving in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).

This means  working in a very different mode than when doing research. Diplomatic negotiations have their own language, rules and even dress-code! Based on the my experience working on biodiversity I teach classes on biodiversity policy (mostly in Latin America), publish work on this area, and I can direct graduate work on it.
