Did you see a Snowy Owl?

Snowy owls may be spotted in the Midwest during the 2011-2012 winter. If you see one, please try to take a photograph and use the form below to help the KU Natural History Museum ornithology staff track appearances in the area.

The more specific the better -- GPS location information is best, but so is "Smithville Lake in Smithville, MO."

Please describe the bird if you can. Adult males tend to be white, and adult females have brown "barred" feathers. Immature adults and immature females also have barred feathers, but the males turn white as they age. Males also have white feathers on the back of their heads.
