Solve a mystery at the museum, get muddy while learning about wetland creatures, dissect a squid, dig for fossils, and more in our one-day Summer Science Camps for ages 8-11. Each camp is $80.

Our intensive and content-rich camps are designed to be engaging and provide high quality science experiences, and are developed and taught by museum education professionals with backgrounds in science and informal science education.

Scholarship assistance is available. Members of the Friends of the Museum at the household/family level and above, and their immediate family members, receive a 10 percent discount on summer camps.

2019 camps

Monday June 10, 2019 - Sea Science

(10am to 3pm)

Squid, salt, seashells and more! Explore the intriguing and diverse world of marine biology.
Note: camp includes squid dissection.

Wednesday June 12, 2019 - Adventures in Biology

(10am to 3pm)

Discover your inner fox, fish, fungus and more!  Explore what we have in common with other living things and how we are related through activities in the museum and outside on campus.
Note: camp includes a fish dissection.

Friday June 14, 2019 - Aquatic Biology

(10am to 3pm)

Make a splash exploring our local waters. Discover how the animals we find tell us if our water clean, and learn to use water quality meters. Be prepared to get muddy and wet!

Tuesday June 18, 2019 - Geology Explorations

(10am to 3pm)

Become a field geologist for a day! Learn about rocks, minerals and fossils while exploring the geology of Kansas.
Note: off campus field camp.

Thursday June 20, 2019 - Expedition: Forest Floor

(10am to 3pm)

Get ready to get dirty! Explore the forest floor to learn about soil and the diversity of life it supports.
