Fautin Selected as NSF Program Officer

Daphne Fautin, curator of invertebrate zoology, has been selected as a program officer at the National Science Foundation. The appointment will begin August 1.

Fautin will head the Improvements to Biological Research Collections program in the Division of Biological Infrastructure.

Program officers craft solicitations, talk to potential and actual applicants responding to a solicitation, organize the review of proposals received in response to a solicitation, and inform successful and unsuccessful applicants of the outcome of the review.  In addition to promoting the National Science Foundation and its activities, program officers also actively maintain their research.
