Jennifer C. Giron Duque

Graduate student
Haworth Hall, room 6002

Jennifer is a doctoral student in the lab of Andrew Short.

She is interested in morphology, phylogeny, systematics, biodiversity, and biogeography of Neotropical beetles.

Research:

I will study how particular morphological characters vary in relation to the ecological niche that water scavenger beetles occupy, as a way to reconstruct the evolutionary history of niche shifting and diversification of acidocerine hydrophilids. Phylogeny, systematics, ecology, and distributions will be considered in order to tackle these questions.

I am also interested in the systematics, diversity, and biogeography of Neotropical broad-nosed weevils.
