Discovery Day: Fossils

Discovery Day: Fossils

Sunday, October 20
1:00pm – 3:00pm
KU Natural History Museum

Celebrate Earth Science Week with us on Sunday, October 20 with a special Discovery Day all about fossils! Join our researchers, graduate students, and friends from the Kansas Geological Survey and Sigma Gamma Epsilon (Earth Science Honors Society) for this special event dedicated to exploring the diversity of life that existed from the Cambrian (~ 500 million years ago) to the Pleistocene (~ 2 million years ago)! Learn about global change through time, hear about our paleontology field work, and try lots of hands-on learning activities for all ages. We’ll have many fantastic specimens on display from the microscopic to the massive! We've seen you adults in the dig pit and yes, it'll be there too, stocked with real fossils for amateur paleontologists of all ages!
