Get ready to go on a virtual field trip! Explore the forest floor with staff at the KU Natural History Museum to learn about the properties of soil and the diversity of life it supports. This camp explores soil and its communities of microorganisms through hands-on activities and demonstrations you can watch from home to understand the role soil plays in a forest community.Updates for this camp will be posted here. This is a free, online camp – all you need is a computer and an internet connection.
June 1 (week of) - Instructional guides for Expedition: Forest Floor are posted below, so you can review the activities before camp begins. These are posted in order of the camp activities schedule. See June 12 below for the full online camp schedule.

June 12 - Camp begins at 10am and Central Standard Time and runs through 2pm with breaks throughout.
Connect with museum education and outreach staff online on our Facebook page for all the fun! We'll share new camp videos every hour with fun learning experiences and activities. Please share photos of your camp-at-home experience with us via social media or by emailing pics to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
