Free Science Kits
Sat., June 12
Curbside, outside the KU Natural History Museum
On June 12th, we will be distributing a limited number of free Science Kits (while supplies last) for our virtual Pop Up Science program – Fossil Shark Teeth on June 19 on Facebook! Each kit will contain all the materials you need for the fossil shark tooth activity, plus a copy of our activity PDF, which will also be available online. Households can get up to 2 kits total. More info can be found at https://biodiversity.ku.edu/science-kits.
Each kit will provide materials for:
Pop Up Science – Fossil Shark Teeth! The video premieres on Facebook on Sat., June 19th at 10am
Museum staff will direct you to pull your car up to a designated spot on Jayhawk Boulevard in front of the north entrance of the museum (closest to the KU Memorial Union). Then, they’ll give you a kit containing all materials needed Pop Up Science. Our program videos remain online too, so if you can't follow along on the day of the event, you can still do science with us when it's convenient for your young scientist! You can walk up to the museum to pick up a kit, too. Museum staff will direct you to the pick up location while maintaining a 6-foot distance between you and others. If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, please wear a mask.
A few kits have been set aside for individuals that are unable to collect kits at the museum. To request one of these kits be mailed to you, contact Colleen MacGilvray (email@example.com) by 5pm on Wednesday, June 9.
