The KU Natural History Museum will bring its free, hands-on traveling event, Microbes on the Move, to the front lawn of the Independence, KS Public Library on Saturday, April 2, from noon until 4 p.m. Join museum staff to learn all about microbes, use hand-held microscopes to examine fungi and bacteria, explore microbe-related museum specimens, and try making your own mini microbial garden. Visitors will also enjoy creating fungal art in petri dishes. This all-ages, family-friendly event is part of a multi-year grant awarded to researchers at the University of Kansas and staff at the museum. Explore a preview of the pop-up museum online.
