Story Book Science - Eat Like a Bear
Saturday, March 12
KU Natural History Museum
What does a bear do after it winters in its den? Join museum staff for Story Book Science and learn more about bears through readings, activities and related specimens! The KU Natural History Museum’s Education Coordinator, Colleen MacGilvray, will read Eat Like a Bear, written by April Pulley Sayre and illustrated by Steve Jenkins on Saturday, March 12!
Readings will take place at 10:30am and 11:30am.
Specimens and activities are available between 10:30am and 12:00pm.
Museum guests can explore topics from the book with specimens and hands-on activities with the museum’s Public Education team — investigate mammal adaptations related to eating and study mammal specimens, including a bear skull!
The readings and activities are targeted towards children between the ages of 4 and 8 and their adults, although all are welcome!
NOTE: At least one adult must be present with children throughout the duration of the reading.
This is a free, in-person event. Registration for the event is not required. Individuals with disabilities that require reasonable accommodations to participate in the event should contact Colleen MacGilvray (email@example.com) by February 28, 2022, with their accommodations.
