Old World Collection

Collections that originated in the Old World (Europe, Asia and Northern Africa) consist of items donated to the University of Kansas, such as a collection of Acheleun handaxes from England, casts of Upper Paleolithic figurines, representative artifacts from various locations, and documentation associated with systematic investigations conducted by former KU faculty.  Although Ivana Radovanovic in the Anthropology department and Curator Sandra Olsen continue to conduct fieldwork and research in the Mediterranean and Saudi Arabia regions respectively, we do not anticipate accessioning additional Old World artifacts.  However, our existing collections continue to provide research material for faculty and students.
