Mark Fisher

Mark is a biologist turned software engineer. He graduated with a PhD in Genetics from the University of Georgia in 2013 and a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from Yale University in 2007. He is passionate about open source biology software and has been involved in a few such efforts, most recently with Symbiota beginning in 2023. When not at the keyboard, you can find him practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu, swimming, homesteading, traveling, and sometimes teaching biology in Costa Rica.
