About KU Phylogenetic Modeling
Phylogenetic Modeling develops statistical and computational tools to explore genetic relationships of species.
It was founded in 2017 by Mark Holder, who has been a faculty member with KU's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology since 2007.
The division does not currently recruit graduate students, but this may change with increased funding. Dr. Holder teaches multiple graduate courses through the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, including:
BIOL 848: Phylogenetic Methods
BIOL 648: Systematics and Macroevolution
BIOL 701: Topics in Likelihood and Bayesian Methods
