Assistant Curator Carlton Shield Chief Gover part of team honored with 2024 Newcomb Cleveland Prize

Congratulations to new Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum curator Carlton Shield Chief Gover who is part of an interdisciplinary team of more than 80 researchers led by Indigenous scholars that received the 2024 Newcomb Cleveland Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The prize was provided in recognition of the team’s March 2023 publication in the journal Science, “Early dispersal of domestic horses into the Great Plains and Northern Rockies.” Dr. Gover was a primary co-author on the paper.
