Congratulations to Acting Assistant Curator of Archaeology Carlton Shield Chief Gover, part of an interdisciplinary team of more than 80 researchers led by Indigenous scholars, on receiving the 2024 Newcomb Cleveland Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The prize was provided in recognition of the team’s March 2023 publication in Science published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAA). Dr. Gover was a primary co-author of the paper, Early dispersal of domestic horses into the Great Plains and Northern Rockies.
